Dear Red-X Doods,

It's not you, it's me. I mean, totally. It's me. I love you guys, you let me donate blood and platlets and marrows (I has a marrow?) and all that stuff. You helped me get my cat, who totally says hello, by the way. Well, no, really he says "Hey, you, yeah, you. Human guy. Feed me. Yeah, I know you fed me this morning. I want more food now. I'm a growing cat. Shutup, I am so still growing. Even if I'm runted."

But this like, relationship, it can't go any further. We just gotta stay friends. I mean, yeah, you're cool and I love to hang out, but first of all, you're always going on about some disaster. Who needs that kind of drama? And also, I got college coming up, and this job, and well, you know my boss. Would you wanna tell him you were gonna quit? And I like money, you know. And I got this other hero gig, it's keeping me pretty busy.

But we can still hang out, right? And I can keep the jacket? The jacket's pretty awesome.

I can? Yeah? Sweet.

-Kyle

I however have decided to go steady with them. That is to say, when I turn eighteen in September anyhow. (Yeah, I'm crazy, I know.)

Ew. What kind of debt are we talking here? The 'it's painful but I figure it's a good pain' sort or the 'OMG! They used something really big and painful where it isn't meant to go!' sort of pain?

Lemee see if I can ... okay, my folks? Did not ever expect me to do college, so they didn't save much. My grandparents have a couple of savings bonds with my name on 'em, but none of them have the money really to pay for this. And Empire's not exactly cheaptown.

So I am student loaning pretty much everything. Because, yeah, job, but it won't pay for tuition AND books AND gas for the bike AND clothes AND Shamu Jr's food and litter and vet stuff AND general living crap like shampoo and new pillows (again GODDAMMIT) and god only know what else.

... why the hell did I think this was a good idea again? someone remind me.

... oh, right. Career that doesn't involve hitting people, welding anything or unions. Well, maybe unions.

*nods* I'm...going to Westchester U for the Pre-med stuff. There's an, what the hell are they called? The day where you go and they tell you lots of stuff and you check out extra activities and all that stuff?

Why do you need new pillows? And is the whole money thing anything I can help with? Mum's not rich but she's pretty well off and my Grandparents had a college fund put aside for me so it's not like I'm not well provided for already.

I'd have been in WCC if I hadn't gotten off the waiting list for Empire. Which means now I can bum rides from Forge or Marius when the weather is shitty.

Because I trashed one of mine and if they don't match I sleep weird. It's one of those things, you know? And no, dude, I gotta do this on my own, or it's not ... it's just a thing. It's not like the loans are gonna kill me in my sleep or anything.

I understand. :) Some things you just have to do for yourself. Bad dreams? For the trashing of the pillow, that is. Or just general wear and tear from cat?

Somehow my reaction of "Yeah, no. Are you on something?" seems really inadequate now.

I can't let Garrison beat me up until the big baby heals from almost being turned into lunch meat.

course, now that I say that it'll summon him. It's like Beetlejuice only with more Kung Fu Grip Action.

Just say his name three times. Or you could stand in front of a mirrorand say his name that way. Then he'd appear behind you, all creepy like.

Speaking of, I think this week, we'll be training defending against weapons. I'll attack you with a variety of hand weapons chosen out of your collection of horror films, while you scream, make those wavy hand gestures, and generally give the old healing factor a work out.

Have to sign the chainsaw out...

I thought this week was defending against you throwing large cargo movers.

You are so totally invited. :) It'll probably be a destination wedding, though. I think we make a pretty cute couple and we get along so well!

If you're gonna go for destination wedding, I recommend Kansas during a blizzard. I mean, okay, it was cold, and windy and snowy, and icy and cold, but nothing smelled like Volcano and I bet there'd be no wacky tourists, so you could snag the honeymoon suite at some Holiday Inn or something.

I did not realize that Kansas was such a vacation hotspot! I will have to add it to the list. Although a whole honeymoon suite may be too grand for us. Reddy is very down to Earth, you know?

I think I'm going to accept their offer. Though no marriage again for me, I'll just be the other woman if Jane doesn't mind.
